Interview with Lovinah Igbani
Title
Interview with Lovinah Igbani
Description
Lovinah Igbani is an activist and student of social work. As someone who is formerly incarcerated and currently has a loved one in prison, Lovinah works to organize rallies with the hope of heightening public awareness of TCDJ conditions in light of COVID-19. She was interviewed shortly after one such rally at the Governor's Mansion in Austin, Texas, on May 23, 2020.
Grounded in her personal experiences both on the inside and outside, Lovinah believes that, "There is no stopping until we see the change that we need and that we know needs to happen. It is not a one-day event. We have to continue to go, we have to continue to build the momentum, continue to build the numbers, continue to do everything we can within our rights to make our voices heard. Because I believe in my heart that as long as we don't give up, we will succeed."
